Traditional
From PhallaWiki
Traditional Games are usually defined by the following key qualities
- A small informed group of "villains" , masoned and with the ability to kill ; otherwise known as the Mafia
- A large uniformed Village base.
- A small number of specials. Seer, Guardian, Vigilante and usually Masons who are the only ones to start out connected.
Typical win conditions are usually as follows:
- For the Mafia: To Outnumber the total non-mafia Population
- For the Good Specials/Villagers - To eliminate all mafia.
Traditional vs. Faction
While a Traditional phalla can have multiple factions. The good special/mafia dynamic usually remains the key focus in order for it to still be considered a traditional phalla. If for example a game is divided evenly into multiple informed groups, it would lose its right to be called a Traditional phalla.
Traditional vs. Strategy
While Strategy games may have the key principles of a Traditional Phalla game, they differ in the fact that mechanics outside of the usual vote take center stage. This could be the inclusion of a traversal map, a hit-point system, equipment/looting and the like.
