Thud Barrelhead was raised in a brewery. Not just any brewery, but the justly famous Barrelhead brewery. His fiercely devout mother imparted a great faith in Thud, and his ale brewing father instilled a hard work ethic, responsibility to his clan, and a love of good strong drink. Thud merged both his passions, greatly impressing his parents by brewing up curative potions based on his fathers ales. Thud had free reign to both his mothers small shrine, and his fathers test kitchens. Thud's experiments in Holy Drink came to a devastating end one cold winters morning, when the most recent concoction fermenting in its vat exploded! Fully half of the Barrelhead brewery was engulfed in flames. It was a sad day for Dwarves from sea to sea. It took them 2 days to put out the fire. In shame and embarrasment, Thud devoted his life to Moradin, and pledged not to return home until he could repay his father in full for the damages caused, and with a perfected new product that any Barrelhead would be proud to put his name on, and throw down his gullet.
