PERSONALITY TRAITS
Anton was the youngest of six children to a minor Lord from the western Pordun grasslands. When he was only ten years old, an armored stranger appeared at his father's keep. The man was in rough shape, unkempt and shaggy, his armor battered and dented. He was, however, undeniably a trained Knight of high birth, and when he pledged his allegience to Lord Siccarus the entire household celebrated and welcomed him eagerly. The knight married one of Anton's sisters and ingrained himself in the household, training the children on diplomacy, politics, and combat. Anton learned much from the old knight, as they mirrored his own ideas of justice and duty. There was, however, a few minor discrepencies of the knight's history that piqued Anton's interests.
Years passed before the knight's true history revealed itself. A few Paladins of the Order of the Burning Chalice stayed at Lord Siccarus' house while traveling through. One of them, the man known as the "Arbiter" roared a challenge at the old knight, declaring him a failure and a heretic. Both sides watched the two veterans duel, though it was quite obvious the Arbiter had the upper hand. Finally, the old knight was disarmed, but rather than surrender, he screamed for help. The household guards rushed to the old Knight's defense, slaying two of the Order's Paladins before they even unsheathed their swords. The Arbiter and his surviving retinue were chased out of the keep.
Anton observed the entire exchange, torrents of fury building up inside of him. His mentor, the knight who taught him all about chivalry and honor, had none himself. Anton pleaded with his father to expel the old man, to turn him in to the order that he had betrayed, but his father refused to turn in his son-in-law.
Weeks passed before the Order returned with greater numbers. The stood at the gates, resplendant in their white and red armor, holding burning brands and torches in their hands. It was Anton who opened the gates for them, and who watched impassively as his father's keep was torched to the ground.

MANNERISMS AND APPEARANCE
COMPANIONS AND ALLIES
The Burning Chalice widely are worshippers of Adustum, a god linked closely to Fire, Warmth, Light, Purity and Judgement. The Order is divided across six different Chapters that span six different regions. Each chapter is lead by both a Militant and Spiritual Leaders. The Arbiter is a position in the Militant arm of the Chapter, and it is his duty to hunt down heretics and converts from within the organization.
The symbol of the Order of the Burning Chalice is a tilted silver cup filled with brilliant orange and red flames. The colors of the Order are White with Red trim. All Order Knights wear a lanyard of yellow thread around their necks when they are on a mission.
Adustum is a benevolent but strict god, who demands a variety of traditions and daily rituals from his followers. These rituals differ from chapter to chapter, but the basic principles are common throughout. Each adept must light a fire at dawn every morning to greet the sun. In this fire he burns off one inch of his lanyard for every day he goes without completing his mission. An adept who burns away his entire lanyard without fufilling his duty has essentially failed, and by order tradition he must light himself aflame. This particular tradition leads to many Adepts losing their path when they don't think they can complete thier mission, giving the Arbiter yet another convert to hunt down and purify.
Most uninititated find the Order to be fanatical and somewhat dangerous. Their methods are extreme and merciless. Paladins of the order have been known to burn down entire villages if it meant fufilling their mission. Their faith is so unwavering that the knights believe that any sacrifice is worthy if it furthers their agenda.
